This picture shows how masonry was used as a main brace as well as a primary heating source in this three story structure out in Concord. Not only is masonry a work of art, but has everlasting strength.

Water Damage

Water penetrates through top of chimney, gets behind bricks, freezes during Winter, and pushes them out leaving bricks to flake or spall.

This is what a chimney mason sees. Notice how much dead space is between the flues. Liners that seep cause havock throughout your home due to the extensive open space. Liners just balance for years and years. Stainless steel liners would surely brace these liners and would seal them off against soot penetration through home.

This chimney window had a massive water leak. Removal of the main beam was necessary. It was re-cemented with UMACO Upatch, then sealed window sill with UMACO Useal. Then we reinstalled beam and waterproofed with translucent masonry sealer.

This chimney was covered in the early 70's. First we did a draft test, then a rough opening (picture 3). Now it's ready for cleaning and a brand new hearth.
